Diversifying Your Construction Spend
This session will examine the world of construction contracting and discuss various strategies for ensuring diversity at both the prime and sub-contract level. Through effective outreach and training, organizations can help level the playing field for small and diverse contractors. The power of small businesses in the US will be shared, as well as the many benefits of promoting diversity in procurement.
Successful programs from leading organizations will be highlighted including Old Dominion University, University of Illinois, and Whistler, British Columbia. Assuming a posture of equity and inclusion is an important part of supplier diversity, as well as measuring and reporting diverse supplier participation.
